STARBUCKS KIOSK INTERFACE

This project aims to conceptualize and wireframe a suitable kiosk interface, and render out what this kiosk might possibly look like, for a possible unmanned pop-up kiosk for Starbucks at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

In a team of 3, we started off the project with field research, interviews & observations to get a deeper insight on what our consumers and possible personas at SGH need.

Based on what the personas need, we have crafted a paper prototype and conducted a usability test on those who were similar to our personas.

Self ordering machine (Starbucks) Paper Prototype

Our target audiences come to this SGH Starbucks to relax, wait, and get away from the stress of a hospital, as such, we needed our new starbucks to be like a sanctuary, clean and soothing.

Our target audiences also required a fast checkout, even for large orders, (for families with children to care for) and they should only need 1 hand (most came in carrying laptops etc.) to operate the ~29x50cm kiosk interface.

We aim to make use of natural materials like foliage, rattan, wood etc. to make the kiosk feel like an escape zone. The furniture and spaces involved should still favour the main types of customers: wheelchair bound/children in trolleys, rushing hospital staff, business people, and large families with young children.
